Having insomnia right now so thought of blogging the latest happenings around me.
Went to relief teach in my alma mater on Thursday and I saw many changes since 3 years ago when I was a student. Really brought back memories although the place changed dramatically - looks so much brighter and livelier now!
A teacher who have taught me F&N became the Vice-Principal! My beloved mandarin-cum-form teacher became the discipline mistress of the school! My favourite english teacher went to MOE to work instead, and he married my F&N teacher who is the Vice-Principal (which I'd mentioned!)
For my literature teacher, she became the HOD for english department, succeeding my favourite english teacher; and what's more, she's married to another teacher in the school!
HAHAHA! Surprisingly shocking news never seem to end! And yes, I was pretty much confused initially, so I'm not surprised if you are!
I've a few class for that day and my first relief-class was a secondary one class who was so noisy and excited to find out more about an ex-student, which is me... Really enjoyed interacting with them! There were really NOISY and having their attention was hard!
Few of the classes left a infamous impression in me due to their disciplinary problems, I asked a few of the students from the classes to stand at the corner for scolding vulgarities and making a whole lot of noise. Few of them had no respect for a teacher, even challenged me like a hooligan.
Well, I guess the only negative change is the level and strictness of discipline, I was pretty much disappointed at the standard of their respect for teachers. I remembered in the past when i'm still in the school, if an individual scolds or even has the intention to mock at the teacher, he will get caned with no questions asked.
I guess times has changed and I'm just worried about our future sons and daughters of the nation, particularly my own children after I'm married, I would want them to be disciplined and to have utmost respect for authority and being biblical as well, standing firm in what they believe in, not letting satan have a foothold in them! I shall lift it up unto God!
I saw the most incorrigible incident on Friday night, a yellow sports car reversed on a one-way junction without looking out for pedestrians. The man in his early 30's with his girlfriend, hit a Bangladesh-national and he fell off his bicycle. I looked in horror and I was further disgusted when the driver didn't apologize or show any remorse, he just stared fiercely at him, as if it's the cyclist's fault.
The only and barely moral thing he did was to asked "Are you ok?" in a reluctant and unhappy tone, probably it's because we were one-arm's-length from them, and immediately followed by a long and concerned look at his car-rear which was partially swiped with black paint from the old bicycle. The Bangladesh-national just forced out a smile and kept silent.
I was utterly enraged at the driver, and I just blurted out, "AND NOT EVEN A 'SORRY'!" before he went in his car, pretended he didn't hear me.
I was very concerned for the Bangladesh-national and asked if he's okay, he just simply smiled and showed gratefulness in his expression.
The sinful world showed it's true colours in this incident, the rich demeaning the poor and the fierce intimidating the weak, the proud despises the timid. However in this carnal world, we've refuge in Jesus, he who is proud is humbled and he who is poor shall be rich and he who is weak shall be strong! (Joel 3:10b, James 4:6)
No worries, Jesus is coming back and this world is gonna change for good! Just you wait!
PRAISE GOD!
