Just wanna share a bit about what i've learnt on monday in TWAM jamming.
At first i was very discouraged and disheartened cos i did not play to my best and made a few of mistakes. I felt really downcast but didn't dare to show it out.
In my heart, i was thinking, "I really wanna play for God, but why is it that i find it hard to play to my very best? Since i'm doing this for God, why did i not play well?" I felt really frustrated.
I kept pondering until the band sat down and did an evaluation. One thing that hit me the most is the rhema words from God thru Joel, the bassist.
He said something like, we MUST have a "heart for people", and being a musician doesn't mean forsaking the great commission and focusing in playing and playing alone. It all boils down to the basic of basics, the heart for people. Only WITH the heart for people, we have the reason to be a musician in the 1st place. Otherwise, don't even call yourself one.
In the prayer, God's words thru Joel's simple and down-to-earth words and expression touched me and i actually teared as I knew I was guilty.
I repented as i felt tt it's true that sometimes, i forsake the heart for people, for the heart for music. I failed to see people thru the eyes of Jesus on the scale of eternity, people matter to God...
After that night, i was more pumped up and passionate for winning souls for people and at the same time, playing music for God.
I pray that i'll be consistent in this. Keep me in prayer too!
And just yesterday, i met two guys, one is Marcus, another is Yan Cheng.
I invited them to WKS2 and prayerfully they will come by faith!
For Yan Cheng, i met him in Blood Donation drive, I was in the same shift duty with him and he was responsive! Year 1 in same course as me (Multimedia & Infocomm Technology)! We had alot to chat about cos i think he looked me up as "Senior"! Good 'tool' to approach people in campus! (By the way, i donated blood! HAHA! You should too!)
