49iven!!! WE GOT THE 2ND RUNNER-UP IN BANDZOUT!!! BY GOD'S GRACE AND ALL HONOUR GOES TO HIM and none for us!!!
Really am very very extremely glad that we had this opportunity in our campus to touch the people with our self-composed song! We sang 2 songs back-to-back, "American Dream" by Casting Crowns and our very own self-composed song: "Crimson Blood" by 49iven!
It's a bonus that we got the 2ND RUNNER-UP!!! Our vision and goal is to impact the campus with our songs and lyrics and to create awareness of Inspirational Band of ours!! Touch people's hearts with our songs!!!
The forming of our band wasn't easy at all...
Initially, I saw the event BandzOut and wonder what i can do in there for God, and I was prompted to perform as a band for Christ! God helped me to see this great chance for us to express ourselves in a secular world! We were talking about it but didn't have a confirmed decision to set up this band, but i was really determined in building up this band4Christ!
We had a hard time finding for specific musicians, I insisted on Christians only because only then we can share the same vision and spirit as a band. At that point of time, only Richard, Cady and I were the only ones in this vision together... 3-piece band is great but limited in some ways...
We trusted God and thank God that He made a way for us and we found our drummer through Cady's classmate, Zhi Liang, a Christian and a reallieeee great drummer! So funny lar, they rarely know each other in class at that time cos it was a new class they were in but because of this band, they got to know each other better! So cool right?! LOL!
And of cos we had our down-times when someone have to leave us due to some miscommunication... But God was and is with us indeed!
We carried on and found Rachel, which is coincidently my first drum-teacher! And neighbour-cum-long-time friend of Zhi Liang!!! Zhi Liang and I realised that we had a common friend!!! LOL! SUCH A COINCIDENCE RIGHT?! WE'RE LIKE SO INTERLINKED TO ONE ANOTHER LARRR! THANK GOD!!!
We took quite a long time to find for a bassist (bassist is the rarest musician in a band, LOL!) And finally! WE THOUGHT OF ZARNI! My sheep! He's a e. guitarist but he would try to play bass and he could! Thank God!!! God uses us in unexpected ways huh?! HAHA!!!
Finally! After such a long time of long searching for precious musicians! And there we had it! A 6-piece FULL band nearing the last registration date, 19th May, '06! ISN'T GOD GREAT?! TELL ME HE IS GREAT! HAHAHA!!!
The journey wasn't a smooth one, there were some disagreements and minor conflicts in the band but we managed to settle it!
We had a long time deciding what song to perform in the audition which is on 31 May, after a long list of songs, we managed to choose "American Dreams" by Casting Crowns!!! A biblical song and what we've wanted! PRAISEGOD!
We had practices and practices and more practices and all the efforts we put in!
We prayed so hard and play to our best and we got thru the audition and right into the FINALS! LOL! It's really God's blessings upon 49iven!!!
HAHAHA!!! After the audition, we had a great relief but it wasn't over for us! Cos we were given 10 mins to perform so we have to perform another song and do a medley. Thank God we managed to compose the second song, "Crimson Blood"!
It's a song that the Holy Spirit inspired me about the hardship journey of Christ before His cruxificion on the cross, from Gethsemane Garden, back to Last Supper and into His death and resurrection! That His crimson blood can save the whole world if anyone were to accept Him as their Saviour! The lyrics is below:

Thanks for the reallie sweet, touching and cool-sounding keyboard play! REALLY LOVE IT! ESPECIALLY THE INTRO AND BRIDGE PART OF CRIMSON BLOOD! LOL!
