On last wednesday, 4 Jan '06. this very funnie and interesting thing happened while i was working on the morning at Life Bookshop @ J8. The story goes like this...!
An indian man came into the shop, and the first thing he did while i was looking at him was that he put his namecard on my table. While I read the fine print below his HUGE-font name, it wrote something like this: "Astrology, fortune-telling, zodiac specialist".
The first thing he spoke was "Young man, when people look at you, they'll think that you're rich boy." (BUT THE MATTER OF FACT IS, I AM NOT RICH!!!)
Then i grin at him with this "question-mark" look at my face. Then the next word was "Young man, you're also a very joyful person". (YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!! I'M JOYFUL IN THE LORD!)
Then after that, he kept on saying very briefly about what my destiny will be etc... (which i wouldn't mention on blog, ask me if you're curious! But no point lar, no man will know another man's destiny except Jesus! LOL!)
Then he said: "Young man, you write your full-name on a foolscape paper, and i'll show you my knowledge and wisdom." He spoke with a very confident and somewhat charismatic tone as if he's the one who created me! LOL! Then i asked him: "Full-name as in FULL-NAME???!!!", he replied: "Yes young man, full name..." (WHAT'S WITH THE YOUNG MAN THINGY HUH?! LOL!) At first, i was hestitated and was doubting whether my 16-letters FULL-NAME filled with normal and typical various 26 alphabets can really tell my destiny??!! (OH...!!! So the kids at kindergarten can actually FORTUNE-TELL already LAHH!??? LOL!)
Initially, i really wrote my full-name on the foolscape paper, i guess the curious side of myself got the better of me. When i was about to pass the foolscape paper to the indian man, a customer came in and asked something and I was distracted for a moment. At that split-minute moment, time seemed to stand still and I begin to think, can this guy reallie tell me my future? Should i really pass this foolscape paper to him?
The carnal side of myself told me: "Just pass it to him, it wouldn't hurt, would it? To know just a bit of your future! Moreover, it's good to plan now towards your known-future right? Come on! Don't doubt! This might be your only chance of getting to know your destiny!"
Suddenly, I thought of these verses from the Bible,
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9)"
The Holy Spirit prompted me of this verse and I was hit with the truth, that no one knows God's plans, even when we plan for our own future, it might differ from what God originally have for us, the perfect plan of HIS!
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'." (Jeremiah 29:11)
I claimed these 2 verses at that point of time and I've decided...
I told him: "I'm sorry, I only believe in my God, that only He has the plans for me, I don't believe in this. Sorry."
He just said: "Oh, you believe in your God huh?! (Paused) Ok..." and then he walked away...
After he left, i thought to myself, "What if i reallie gave him the piece of paper? Would i be toying with God's plan? Would I be altering my life? Would I give Satan a footstool of disbelief in God and more trust to Satan and man's plans and prediction which leads me to destruction? Would I be such a fool to do that?!".
Hey guess what, i almost did... I didn't believe that I even had the thought of passing him the piece of paper. I'm definately not a superstitious nor a person who would go to fortune-tellers to seek for guidance. Often when i walk pass fortune-tellers, I would ignore them totally, like treating false prophets. And would definately not believe in them.
Well, they come and find me instead! See how scheming Satan's plan is? But THANK GOD I didn't fall for the trap Satan had placed in front of me, snaring at me. THANK GOD that He sent a customer to distract me at that very point of time and let me ponder and have a time to think over.

He reigns, from Heaven above.
