blogging from school's library, AGAIN!I was asked a thought-provoking question:
Why do people still fall since they know the truth that they will be saved eternally in the end?Well, this question may seemed to be easy to answer, but there're a lot of reasons causing people to fall... It may be unfruitfulness, dryness in serving the Lord, serve for the sake of leaders and fame, BGR, gossip etc. It all boils down to the works of Satan, our greatest nemesis who had been defeated by Jesus.
Throughout these years of serving God, I realized one thing, the start is full of excitement, the journey is tough BUT the rewards are great. Just like a marathon, when you start running, you'll feel a great sense of adrenaline, in the middle of the race, you'll feel lethargic, perspiring and wanting to give up and perhaps, taking your time to walk to the finish line. However, when you forget about all the tiredness and exhausiveness you're facing and decide to run all the way without stopping to the finish line and aim for the reward, you'll get the end-glory, the medal! Be it gold, silver or bronze, you've completed the race!
(1 Corinthians 9:24)
In the midst of the journey, there'll sure be obstacles and barricades for us to overcome, if we overcome it with ourselves, chances are we'll fall back because we ain't strong enough! And if we rely on God and only God, we'll overcome these obstacles as easy as flipping a coin! Reason why people fall might be because they rely too much of themselves, to them, God is just a "high-up-there" character; so they rather take chances by relying on themselves! We should have a "there's nothing my God cannot do!" mindset instead! Always focus on God instead of the obstacles!(Jeremiah 12:5)
Other than obstacles, there're also lots of discouragements luring around us during the race, Satan will send his tiny little evil devils to put us down, through gossip, sweet-talk and backstabbing etc. How do we overcome it? With the Bible and using the name of Jesus to cast them out! "Stand behind me Satan!, in Jesus' name" Satan is afraid even to hear the name of Jesus! It's like a "talisman" for us! When God sees that His child is using His Word, He'll be pleased!
There're also temptations, like BGR etc... It ain't easy to overcome, especially for the brothers! (right? The sisters as well...!) God created us to be sexual-beings, not sex-maniac! How do we overcome it? Flee from it and turn to the correct direction which is God-bound! Face it! You can't fight temptations, chances are you'll be pull towards it; but you can win them by turning away from them!
As we run the race, we'll feel dry in our mouth and wet throughout our body! Our first thought is to give-up and look for the nearest water source which unfortunately, can't be found in the midst of nowhere. What we should do is to pray for rain! Not that rain that drops from the sky but spiritual rain! To renew us spiritually and wet our dryness! Cool huh?!
As we run, we should always look ahead of us and encourage one another in serving Him! (Job 16:5) And together, we shall see ourselves completing the race and hear God say "My good & faithful servant, you had ran well."!
God didn't promise us a smooth-sailing life, but He promised to be with us in the midst of storm!Trust HIM!
